Due to the unpredictable development of the Covid-19 pandemic, we opted for a XPRAG.it 2020(21) online, via an interactive virtual conference format, which will still enable interaction among the participants and facilitate networking in a nice and inspiring atmosphere.

We hope this choice will also ease the participation from all over Europe and beyond.

The conference committee is currently working on the organization of the XPrag.it 2020(21), so to make it as pleasant and enjoyable as it has been in its previous editions.

Stay tuned! Soon we will post updates about all further details and developments pertinent to the conference.

After an accurate monitoring of the current situation with Covid-19 in Italy and in the countries of our guests and participants, and after receiving the predictions of the Italian Ministry regarding the norms to be adopted in the upcoming months to prevent/reduce the spread of the virus, the committee has decided to postpone the 4th Experimental Pragmatics in Italy Conference to July 2021.

The rescheduled 4th Experimental Pragmatics in Italy Conference – will be held at the University of Turin, Italy, on 8-9 July 2021.

The XPRAG.it 2020 committee is monitoring the COVID-19 situation and discussing the possibility to postpone the conference and the pre-conference workshops to a later moment. A final decision will be taken soon. We will promptly inform the XPRAG.it community.

In the meanwhile, we decided to suspend the registration process.

Please note that, as previously announced, in the unfortunate case XPRAG.it 2020 conference is cancelled due to public health concerns caused by the outbreak of COVID-19, 95% of the conference fee will be refunded. The amount withheld (5%) is meant to cover the mandatory costs for each online payment.
If the XPRAG.it 2020 event (conference and workshops) will be postponed and you have already registered, your registration fee will be preserved, unless you require to be refunded.

16.03.2020

We are happy to announce that we received 71 submissions, with authors from 17 countries, and soon the abstracts will be sent to the reviewers. Such number of submissions is very meaningful given the well-known current situation with the Corona virus infections all around the world. It is really nice to see such an enthusiastic response from the XPRAG.it community!

So far, the conference committee is proceeding with the conference organization, as we hope that the situation gets back to normal by the summer and that there are the conditions for XPRAG.it 2020 to take place as scheduled. However, the committee has already discussed the possibility that, if needed, the conference is postponed to a later moment. We will closely monitor the situation and the decisions taken by national and international authorities, and promptly inform the XPRAG.it community about our decisions.

In accordance with the civil and health authorities, the University of Turin is adopting preventative measures for the protection of the population and the university environment.
